Consider these points before pursuing a Degree in Engineering

Engineering is the dream of many Indian students, more than 1.5 million students complete their graduation in Engineering. This is the most extraordinary feeling to be called an engineer. There are wide varieties of degrees such as Civil, Mechanical, and Computer Science Software Engineering, etc. there are many things to consider before pursuing a degree in engineering or B.tech. India has the highest number of engineers as well and this domain dominates many other fields in India, gradually the need for engineers is increasing, and this boost more Job Vacancy in Delhi as well as in other urban cities.

Indians are willing to run in the race of engineering, and this is the most preferred course among Indian families, as this offers a large amount of money and respect in society. Does this truth exist in today’s scenario too? Or do students just follow the herd and choose this field as a career?

There is no fault to choose this career path, but at the same time, we can say that this path is not as clear as it looks.

Here we are going to discuss some of the major points to focus on, before choosing an engineering course.

‘Why’ of your choice:

Are you choosing this course because your family and relatives are forcing you? And also if you are pursuing this field because you think it’s a lucrative career with a better work-life balance, before choosing your career in this field rethink it. To achieve success in any field, hard work is a must. Map your interest and try to communicate with an engineer who has been working in this field for a year and try to find out what the complete day of an engineer looks like. If these things suit you then you are on the right path but if not then, you will feel regret after some time.

Admission is not enough, hard work is waiting for you.

Difficulties are not limited to this course, after admission, there are more struggles than in any other field. You have to work hard to complete 8 semesters, be regular in the lectures and also take help from outside resources such as the internet, and books, also consult with your seniors Only holding an engineering degree is not enough to become a successful and employable engineer. You have to do some basic research about the course and colleges.

Is your college offers Placement or a Job?

Not every engineering graduate gets a satisfactory job package, only some of the IITians offer placement, and even these IITs also do not guarantee 100% placement of their students. An electronic engineer can get 3.3 lakh per annum. So, before applying for admission to an engineering course, try to capture the placement facility they provide, these placement events create Job Vacancy in Mumbai, and also search, that which companies visited the college in the past time.

Management is not the next step after Engineering.

A massive range of engineering graduates thinks that this is the door toward management. MBA after engineering is not as useful, work for some years as an engineer and then find out whether the management field is required or not. If you still want to do an MBA then, do it at your graduation level.

Review the curriculum of different colleges.

Many colleges don’t update their syllabus according to new technology, that’s the reason you to study their current curriculum before taking admission to any of the colleges, it’s your basic right. You should know whether college follows the technology or not. You need to be more diligent during your first job and always do remember that you have to keep learning in your complete journey.

Consider these points while choosing the path which is toward engineering, these factors will give you an authentic view of the course. Prepare yourself to face the hurdles in your career even after you completed the engineering degree. Follow your passion and skill set and do more hard work with your heart.
